Doctrine #60: God's Will

Here is the link to the Introduction for this Series.

DOCTRINE #60: GOD'S WILL
God has three Wills: 1) Universal Will: that all enter into His Plan (Meaning of Life: Church and Marriage). 2) Group Will: Maximum Long Term Profitability (Growth), and 3) Individual Will: Maximum Long Term Profitability (Growth). God's Will (Church and Marriage) occurs through people who have enough spiritual value and pray. God's Will is brought about BY Church and Marriage...and people suffering injustice well.

God's Will for the individual and for the group can grow...His original perfect Universal Will (that all are saved) is always running down...He will never achieve His perfect Will because people chose not to come unto the knowledge of the truth. We affect whether (and how much of) the Individual and Group Wills occur. God’s Universal Will definitely occurs but we determine when and at what cost.

Doctrine #59: Dispensations

Here is the link to the Introduction for this Series.

DOCTRINE #59: DISPENSATIONS
God has a Plan for eternity He believes is Right. However, God is willing to consider other possibilities. God is using a contrastive process (Right HOW) to determine what is Right (Right WHY). God’s Right method is to show that every other possible configuration is wrong…that every other configuration ends up Unprofitable. These configurations are called “dispensations”. The entire Bible documents God using this contrastive process to prove His Plan for eternity is Right!

Doctrine #58: Meaning of Life

Here is the link to the Introduction for this Series.

DOCTRINE #58: MEANING OF LIFE
The Meaning of Life is Church and Marriage. God's purpose is to create a Bride for His Son. Church is the ultimate community solely made up of people (even though God can be a part of it). The Ultimate Community is Marriage because God is involved. The Meaning of Life is the Church (one type of ultimate community) in the Ultimate Community (Marriage Covenant with Jesus and God the Father).

Doctrine #57: Marriage

Here is the link to the Introduction for this Series.

DOCTRINE #57: MARRIAGE
Marriage is begun with one of three ways: vow, exchange of tokens, and sexual intercourse. The Covenant is "cut" (established) with sexual intercourse. Marriage is a Covenant that was intended to generate spiritual value to excess (unlimited amount) to all of the persons in community (wife, husband, and God) in order to bring about God’s Will on earth as it is in heaven.

Doctrine #56: Calvinism

Here is the link to the Introduction for this Series.

DOCTRINE #56: Calvinism
Calvinism is a man-made gnostic belief that meshes the Law with Grace. The five points of Calvinism are: Total Depravity, Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement, Irresistible Grace, and Perseverance of the Saints. Believing all five points leads to the contradiction that God created some people to spend eternity in torment regardless of what the individual wants or does. Believing in Calvinism with less than these five points leads to greater contradictions.

3.3 Calvin
3.4 Modern Calvinism
3.5 Non-Contradiction
3.6 Omnipotent
3.7 Sovereignty
3.8 God's Nature and Personality
3.9 Calvin Summary

There was even a section in Chapter 4 that dealt with Predestination.

As for this blog, we saw that each of Job's Three Comforters represented a religious perspective:
Calvinism, Traditionalism, and Post-Modernism.

During last year's Series, we saw that the Pharisees were Calvinists! Here are the posts:
-Matthew 3:1-12
-Matthew 22:15-22

Here is a section from "Modeling God's Wills" concerning the Pharisees: 7.5 The Pharisees

One of the chapters Calvinists misinterpret to justify their beliefs is Romans 9.

Doctrine #55: Eternal Life

Here is the link to the Introduction for this Series.

DOCTRINE #55: ETERNAL LIFE
Everyone will spend eternity in one of two places: new Jerusalem or lake of fire. Eternal life is the ability to repair for eternity so that every moment in the new Jerusalem is better. Eternal death is the inability to repair for eternity so that every moment in the lake of fire is worse. Every moment in the new Jerusalem is the best moment a believer has every experienced. Every moment in the lake of fire is the worst moment a believer has ever experienced.

The best example of a group prayer was the Lord's Prayer.

The best example of an individual prayer was Jesus praying in the garden.

The other example that we ought to consider is when Samuel acted in God's place during prayer. In the post titled, "Leadership: God or Kings?", we saw that God responds to our request with advice during the prayer.

-Noah, Daniel, Job wouldn't be able to change God's Will

DOCTRINE #48: LOVE
Love is the giving of a value to a person without expecting a value in return from that person. Saying "I love you" is an admission that you owe someone because you've received more than what you have given. Uniqueness can allow two people to both say "I love you" to each other. Love can become enabling if you know that continuing to give a value will cause that person to be able to do something destructive.

We covered the difference between Morals and Ethics in the post titled, "Confess and Repent".

Here is the excerpt:

"Ethics is man’s other way the deal with guilt. It is different from an apology in two ways. First, its focus is not on the individual, but on society. Secondly, it doesn’t even acknowledge the guilt. It tries to completely avoid this need to remove guilt. Society simply declares the immoral action that caused guilt to be allowable. In order to look at ethics, let’s first define morals.

Morals are a set of principles that result in profitable actions in the Big Picture and Long Term. They are actions that create something of Long Term value regardless of the location or the era. Specifically, they are actions that would be profitable regardless of when a person lived or under what culture (where) they lived.

For example, we can all agree that individuals should not abuse each other physically for their own personal benefit. This is pretty much true for every culture that has ever existed.

Ethics are a set of principles that result in actions that are accepted as correct by a specific society for a specific location and time in history. Even though the actions result in one person losing profitability through coercion, the society agrees there is no need for justice to equal out this specific case.

Ethics is man’s way of removing guilt for not being moral. Basically, groups of people agree it is okay not to be moral as long as we act according to an accepted, special code of conduct. The best example of this is business. People who aren’t moral in their business dealings rationalize the guilt by saying they are following “business ethics”. However, the guilt still remains."

BACKGROUND
During April and May, I am posting sixty Doctrines. These sixty Doctrines ought to be used as a diagnostic tool: you ought to begin with Doctrine #1 and see how far you get before you disagree.

If you believe the Doctrine that is presented above, then continue to the next Doctrine.

If you don't believe the Doctrine that is presented above, look at some of the corresponding Scriptures through links to Jonathan's blog and/or look at the philosophical explanation through the links to posts on this blog.

If you still don't believe the Doctrine in question, take some time to state your will what your doctrine is for this topic. Identify the Scripture to support it...and then continue to the next Doctrine.

Doctrine #44: Profitability

Here is the link to the Introduction for this Series.

DOCTRINE #44: PROFITABILITY
Profitability is the difference in Long Term value between what something is worth and what it cost to create. If something is worth more in the Long Term than what it cost to create, it is Profitable. If something is worth less in the Long Term than what it cost to create, even though it has value, it is Unprofitable. Long Term Profitability is Good. Long Term Unprofitability is Bad.

DOCTRINE #42: SALVATION
Salvation is the avoidance of eternal punishment. Jesus' death on the cross is the source of our salvation. The responsibility for our salvation is by grace through faith. Salvation is according to our decision to allow God's Righteousness through us which results in works. God is the source, but we have the responsibility.

Doctrine #41: Grace

Here is the link to the Introduction for this Series.

DOCTRINE #41: GRACE
Grace (charis in the New Testament) is the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life. Grace is allowing God to direct your actions through the Holy Spirit. These actions that God does through you result in Righteousness. God is the source of these actions. God gets the credit for these actions, not the individual. Grace is God's Wisdom.

Grace is a topic that we've consistently discussed on this blog from the beginning. Today, most "Christians" follow a definition for grace that came from Martin Luther, not the Bible. "Unmerited favor" is a man-made doctrine that makes the Word of God of none effect. Biblical grace is the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life. The most comprehensive post on this topic is in "Modeling God's Wills": "7-7 Grace".

During the Salvation Series, we covered both unmerited favor and Biblical grace.

One of the first Series on this blog covered grace with the following posts:
-Traditional Grace
-New Testament Grace
-Jesus Needed Grace
-Grace Instructs
-Situational Grace
-Grace and Works
-Grace Is Sufficient

Doctrine #40: Repent

Here is the link to the Introduction for this Series.

DOCTRINE #40: REPENT
Repentance is the act of giving or doing something in order to repair the damage from the sin. Repentance is a DO. Repentance is turning the other way from sin and making progress in this opposite direction. Repentance ought to result in more through justice.

Doctrine #39: Confess

Here is the link to the Introduction for this Series.

DOCTRINE #39: CONFESS
Confession is the admission by the individual of what he/she did that was done wrong. It ought to have three parts: "I know WHAT I did (specifically stated) that was wrong", "I know WHY I did it", "I don't WANT to do it again". Confession is a SAY. Apologies are only an admission of how the individual feels. There are no apologies in the Bible.

Doctrine #38: Sin

DOCTRINE #38: SIN
Sin is the cause that results in ANYTHING (whatsoever) that is done AGAINST what the individual believes (is persuasively supported) by their Understanding and Experience. All sin leads to death, however, not all sin is the same. Sin against each other affects Reward. Sin against God affects Salvation. The First Cause (origin) of every sin is justification of self.

Doctrine #37: Jesus

Here is the link to the Introduction for this Series.

DOCTRINE #37: JESUS
Jesus is fully man and fully God. Jesus was able to choose to do evil while on earth, however, He always and completely chose to allow the Holy Spirit to direct His actions. Since His Resurrection Jesus is unable to act apart from His Nature. God the Father is the Mind/Soul, never changes and is predictable. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit, untamed and is NEVER predictable. Jesus is God in the Flesh and is able to grow. All three are God because They are always completely Right and always completely Just. All three have a unique embodiment of God.

We have covered the Doctrine of Jesus being Fully Man and Fully God. In fact, we saw that a local Pastor called me a heretic in his factually inaccurate Refutation of "Modeling God" and then in his lawyer's response showed that he didn't believe Jesus was fully man!

The issue is that more than forty years ago, the church in America decided to go without an orthodox explanation for God because they couldn't explain God's Nature. This was the beginning of the Jesus Movement. However, since Jesus was fully man and fully God, this required the church in America to have an definition for God and a definition for man.

We covered the Doctrine of The Holy Spirit in a post titled, "Holy Spirit Overview".

Finally, during last year's Series, we saw The Trinity mentioned in one sentence in the post titled, "Matthew 3:13-17".

Doctrine #36: Free Will

Here is the link to the Introduction for this Series.

DOCTRINE #36: FREE WILL
Free Will is the ability to act apart from one's nature. Free Will is the ability to choose good or evil. Once beings are judged, they lose their free will. Every being has choice. Beings that are judged still have choice within their nature, however they don't have the ability to choose something apart from their nature.

We've seen the Model For God showed God cannot act apart from His Nature. For example, it is impossible for God to lie. God cannot chose to do something outside of His GOOD Nature because God is light and in Him there is NO darkness at all.

We've seen that Jesus was fully man and fully God which requires a definition for God and a definition for man that are non-contradictory with each other. We've seen the church in America chose in 1969 "to go without an orthodox explanation for God". We saw this is called "The Godless Christianity Movement".

During last year's Series, we saw demons had to ask Jesus to cause them to do something that was apart from their evil nature: Matthew 8:28-34.

During the I Corinthians Series, we saw that angels haven't been judged yet, because we will judge angels.

Finally, we saw in the post titled, "Doctrine of Satan" that Satan has been judged and is unable to act apart from his evil nature.

The best post to consult for how Laws worked is "Salvation: OT vs. NT". In that post, a list of characteristics for the dispensation of the Law and how it related to Salvation show the limiting nature of the Law.

On a side note, Wayne Swokowski taught me the definition and etymology of the Hebrew word for Law. It is not "law" in the governmental sense that we are used to today. The word "Law" in the Old Testament meant "guidance" with the source of this word coming from the idea of being sprinkled on the outside with water.

The Law (graphe) guided people from the outside like being sprinkled on with water.

We saw the grace (rhema) is the guidance from the inside that flows like a fountain of water.

Notice, the guidance of the Law comes from the outside towards the person...like it hinders them from doing the wrong thing...sin. The guidance of grace comes from the inside towards others...like it progresses the person towards doing the right thing...Righteousness.

It is the area where we try to live with contradictions.
It is the area where we want to believe things are random or unknowable.

Doctrine #31: Humility

DOCTRINE #31: HUMILITY
Humility is considering you are wrong...considering another perspective. Pride is the opposite. Pride is not considering another perspective, including that you could be wrong. Pride is the belief you are in need of nothing. If a worldview's definition of humility requires the person to actually be wrong, then Jesus couldn't be humble.

We saw during last year's Series, Jesus' blatantly answer the question of who was the greatest in the kingdom of heaven with:

"4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:1-4)

We covered the implications of "humble" in the post titled, "Matthew 18:1-4". (There was also some follow up points made in the ensuing post titled, "Matthew 18:5-7".)

Also in last year's Series, we saw that being humble was one of the levels on the scale of Christian Maturity presented in the Beatitudes. That was in a post titled, "Matthew 5:1-12".
